What Makes a Good Online Merchant?
The very 1st thing to check is if they are a member of the Better Business Bureau Reliability Program and
display this logo on their site:
Click on this BBB logo on their site and it will take you to the Better Business Bureau records for
that company so you can see how many complaints were launched against that company and how the company handled the
complaint. It will also mention how long they've been a BBB member in good standing.
Check that their website is very thorough with complete information on products including:
- Full product features
- Full product specifications
- Product warranty
- Full shipping options
- That the product you are interested in is one of the main products that they specialize in so
you know they have a deep knowledge of the different models and a wide selection in that specialty product. In this
case "mobility scooters" or "power wheelchairs" should be one of their main products they sell.
- Check their return and refund policies to make sure you can return your product if you are not satified. See
story of elderly gentleman who couldn't return his
scooter.
The online merchant has been in business for at least 2 years.
They have a 1-800 number, chat line, or email access to get all your questions answered promptly.
There are some testimonials from customers who have purchased from the merchant.
There are some product reviews by customers who have bought specific models and the pros and cons of that product.
The customer testimonials and reviews give you a good indicator of how satisfied other customers have been with the merchant
and/or product.
